Let' Talk

My photography interest began in 1975 when working as a physician in the Indian Health Service at Fort Hall, Idaho. It was there I was introduced to the camera, black and white photography, and developing and printing in the darkroom at Idaho State University. Over the ensuing years, I photographed near and far, from Nepal, to Africa, Russia, Cuba, Europe, Ecuador, and close to home, wherever that was.  Light, color, form, gesture, action, and sense of place are some of the objectives I seek to convey. I continue to expand my horizins as I now live on the coast of Maine and explore the natural beauty of water, sky, seasons, people, and curiosity.  My wife Joanne Tarlin (www.joannetarlin.com) is an artist who paints and sculpts in the Boatshed Studio we created from a building on our property. Her vision and sensibility inspires many of my imagery and selections on this site. Although I am not professionally engaged in photography, I am flattered to share any of my images as prints which I can create with archival paper and inks.
